Notice of a Temporary Moratorium for Solar Panels, Solar Farms and Solar Arrays.
The Royalton Township Regular Board conducted a meeting on July 10, 2023 at the Royalton Township Hall, 980 Miners Road, St. Joseph, MI 49085, to review and impose a Temporary Moratorium on the Acceptance of New Building and Zoning Applications for Solar Panels, Solar Farms and Solar Arrays.
- The Moratorium shall remain in effect for a period of 6 months following the effective date of July 10, 2023 or until the effective date of newly adopted comprehensive zoning ordinance regulating development in the Township, whichever occurs first. Notwithstanding the foregoing, before this moratorium expires, the Township Board may by resolution extend the moratorium for a reasonable amount of time to the extent needed to complete its consideration and development of such ordinance.
